KalanikMr. John B. Kalanik, Jr. was previously the President of InStep Software LLC, now a division of Schneider Electric. Mr. Kalanik has over 20 years of technology experience and a long-time passion for software development.  At InStep Software, he oversaw the development and deployment of the company’s two main product suites, eDNA and PRiSM.  InStep Software’s eDNA data historian was designed for collecting, archiving, displaying, and reporting machinery and sensor data and PRiSM’s predictive asset analytics software monitors the real-time health and performance of critical assets by using artificial intelligence, pattern recognition and sophisticated data-mining techniques to determine when a piece of equipment is performing poorly or is likely to fail.  As President, Mr. Kalanik was responsible for creating partnerships and strategic alliances that built on the company’s vision. Prior to founding InStep Software, Mr. Kalanik held various management positions on large-scale engineering and software development projects in both the United States and the United Kingdom. In addition, Mr. Kalanik served as Senior Project Engineer for Sargent & Lundy, a leading architectural-engineering firm in the electric power industry. At Sargent & Lundy, he led an award-winning team of power generation software developers. Mr. Kalanik earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Additionally, he completed coursework in Nuclear Engineering at Bettis Reactor Engineering School in Pittsburgh.
